O Ollie, Where Art Thou?

Photography hasn't been at the top of my agenda lately.
Instead, I have developed new skills in seeding, planting, hoeing, watering and back breaking soil turning. It all started with the setup of a new large raised bed in our garden followed a couple of months later with the granting of a nice forty square meter allotment a couple of miles away from our house. Most of my week-ends have been occupied with working a ground packed with stones and intertwined weed root systems until suitable for growing vegetables. In retrospect I should have probably rented a rotavator... Anyway, no pain no gain as they say and after a few months of hard but satisfying labour Trish and myself are now starting to enjoy regular harvests.
I have found gardening a perfect complement to my professional occupation which consists mostly in facing a computer. Scenic photography is great but is mostly suited to these furtive moments during which the light is soft and diffused enough to create warmth and structure. In contrast, gardening is a hobby that can stretch during the whole course of the day. A perfect way to detox from the stress of a busy working week if you ask me.
But I'm diverging. Gardening hasn't been the only occupation I've had lately. Painting, hanging wallpaper and fixing all kind of stuff around the house has also been high on the agenda. I'm not a great DIY person but it is amazing what one can do when a great sense of urgency falls upon him...
This requires some explanation. Rather than boring you to death with a thousand words, I'll expand using the following picture of my beautiful wife taken a couple of weeks ago...

And I thought so far it had been difficult to find time for photography. It's not about to get any better!
I feel like my main photographic style is going to switch from landscape to people imagery in the very near future. In only a few weeks I'll be juggling tasks between work, shopping, nappy changing, feeding, dressing, bathing, soothing, cooking, driving, calling and gardening with whatever time remains. All that with probably around four hours sleep per day. Sounds horrendous I know but then why am I feeling like a hell of lucky man? The truth is, I can't wait.
I will try to update the site more regularly in the future. I'll do my best. I promise!
